UNESCO Chairs and clubs exchanged experience
132Recently, heads of UNESCO clubs and chairs of higher educational institutions of our country were on a business trip to Minsk, Republic of Belarus, to exchange experience in this field. During the business trip, the teachers visited the Belarusian association of UNESCO clubs and several clubs and chairs of UNESCO. The members of the association introduced the guests with their activities and talked about the international projects and programs being implemented, as well as the constantly expanding cooperation relations with the parallel organizations in this regard. In the UNESCO clubs, there was a discussion about the work being done on educating young people in the spirit of patriotism, promoting ecological education and healthy lifestyles, as well as directions for its further advancement.
The teachers visited the club called “Center of Interesting Activities”, got acquainted with its work, and introduced their Belarusian colleagues to the work and the activity of clubs of higher educational institutions of our country. The members of the club told about the cultural events organized in their fields of specialization.
The meeting at the UNESCO Club “Peace and Civic Education through Learning Languages” of Minsk State Linguistic University was also significant in the exchange of ideas and experience. At this university, the UNESCO Chair has been operating for 25 years and uses advanced methodologies in the study of foreign languages, learns about the experience of organizing international conferences and “round tables”. The scientific direction of the “Cultural heritage: from the past to the future” UNESCO Chair, opened in 2023 at Magtymguly Turkmen State University, and talks about the activities of the member teachers and students also aroused great interest on the Belarusian side. During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the possibilities of maintaining cooperation between the chairs in the future, important areas of cultural heritage protection.
