Faculty of History
1383The faculty was established in 1932.
The departments of the faculty are the History of Turkmenistan, World History, Archaeology and Ethnology, and Social Sciences. Specialists in history, archaeology, political science, eastern studies, philosophy and theology are trained at the above-mentioned departments.
The Professors and teachers carry out research works in the different periods of country’s history; development of ancient civilization in the territory of Turkmenistan; development of archaeological sciences; the impact of the civilization established in the territory of Turkmenistan on the ancient Eastern civilization; Jeytun, Anev, Margush, Oguzboy, Parthian, Turkmen–Seljuks cultures; history of the world Turkmens; distribution of the Turkmen throughout the world; culture of the Turkmen nation, history and modernism; anthropology researches; study of development history of Turkmen as nation through ethnologic and ethnographic works.
The graduates of the faculty are qualified as “historians, teachers of history and social sciences”; “archaeologists, history teachers”; “specialists in political studies, social science's teacher”; “orientalists, history teachers”; “philosophers, philosophy and social sciences teachers”; “theologian, teachers”. The graduates are able to work at the educational establishments, scientific-research institutions, social and other organizations, different branches of economy of Turkmenistan.
