Opening ceremony and plenary session of the International Scientific-Practical Conference was held
6Today, on April 15, the opening ceremony and plenary session of the international online scientific-practical conference titled “Modern Scientific Research in the Study of Historical and Cultural Heritage: Sustainable Development of Peoples and Cultures” were held at Magtymguly Turkmen State University.
Representatives from Turkmenistan, as well as from 15 foreign countries – namely the Russian Federation, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, Türkiye, the Italian Republic, the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Rwanda, the Republic of Namibia, the United Republic of Tanzania, and Myanmar are participating in the international scientific-practical conference. In total, delegates from more than 40 higher educational institutions and research centres are taking part.
Participants of the plenary session of the international conference noted that in recent years, owing to the tireless efforts of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag, and the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, cooperation between neutral Turkmenistan and foreign countries in the field of science and education has been steadily developing.
In this context, it was emphasized that, based on the “Strategy for the Development of Higher Professional Education in Turkmenistan for 2026–2052,” the activities carried out by neutral Turkmenistan in the fields of education, science, and cultural heritage forming a solid foundation for relations with strategic partner countries are of historical significance.
Turkmen and foreign scientists, professors, and lecturers presented detailed reports on ongoing modern scientific research in the study of historical and cultural heritage at their respective higher educational institutions and research centres.
Participants of the conference expressed their pride in noting that the principles of friendship and brotherhood continue to develop and strengthen in the new historical era owing to the efforts of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag, and the President of Turkmenistan.
Tomorrow, on April 16, the work of the international scientific-practical conference will continue in the following sections: “Turkmenistan – UNESCO: The Role of International Cooperation in the Protection of National and World Cultural Heritage,” “The Modern Development of Cultural and Humanitarian Relations among Peoples,” and “Issues of Improving the Methodology of Studying and Teaching Historical and Cultural Heritage.”
